Upon turning 43 years old or so, I found that it became quite difficult to lose weight. I typically exercise regularly and did not have a weight problem until I reached my “middle age years.” Even with regular exercise, I could not lose weight and I continued to slowly put on excess weight. I am a healthy eater but I also enjoy more than one portion, thanks to my wonderful wife’s terrific cooking. I never consulted with a nutritionist before and always considered myself to have lead a healthy life style, yet I easily became over 30 pounds overweight. This causes the obvious issues such as feeling “fat” or “bloated,” running out of clothes to wear, and more importantly, medical issues such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc.
I am presently 47 years old and grew weary of my excess weight. Finally, I knew I had to do something different because my typical diet/exercising was no longer working. I went to see Dr. Liu based upon a referral that I obtained from my podiatrist, as he explained to me that he was having success with this program. I was not expecting any miracle cures. Before my new diet began, I received a full “work up” from Dr. Liu and discovered, unbeknownst to me, that I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol and was quite overweight, according to Body Mass Indexes. So, with this additional motivation, I began what was supposed to be a 3 month diet program, starting with protein shakes/bars and soups, lots of water and daily exercise. I adhered to the instructions that I received from Dr. Liu with the best of my ability and I was monitored closely throughout this time period.
I was able to lose over 30 pounds in a very short period of time due to the nutritional advice I received from Dr. Liu in addition to the food her program provides. For example, I always assumed that orange juice and bananas are healthy things to consume, and I did so daily for many years. Per Dr. Liu’s instructions, when I cut from my diet these two items, as well as bread, dessert, etc., maintained a more disciplined exercise regimen, and consumed the proffered protein shakes/food, I did not have to be with the “program” beyond 4-5 weeks. I found success with her program very quickly. It sounds cliché but I feel so much better after having lost this weight. It has been a fun exercise to have to purchase new clothes, have friends and family positively comment on my progress, etc. I found Dr. Liu to be encouraging, informative and her office staff exceedingly friendly and responsive. My blood pressure is normal, I dropped 3 pant sizes, and I enjoy exercising even more since I am not as winded as I once was. My body fat index dropped to 15% which is where I am supposed to be at my age and height according to the standard medical weight indexes. Accordingly, I am more than happy to provide this testimonial and would encourage others to visit Dr. Liu as well.
